Couples Counselling in English
Living abroad can be exciting.
It can also put enormous pressure on a relationship.
Many of the international couples I meet are dealing with challenges that local Danish couples rarely experience.
They may have left family and friends behind, work in demanding international environments, speak different native languages, or simply feel isolated in a country that still feels unfamiliar.
Small misunderstandings can quickly grow into recurring conflicts.
The good news is that communication can be learned.
Why couples seek counselling
Some couples contact me because they argue constantly.
Others hardly speak anymore.
Some struggle with jealousy, trust, intimacy or different expectations about family life.
Many tell me:
“We still love each other. We just don’t know how to find each other anymore.”
That is often where our work begins.
My approach
I do not spend months analysing childhood unless it helps solve today’s problem.
Instead, we focus on understanding the communication patterns that keep you stuck.
Most couples are not trying to hurt each other.
They simply react automatically.
Once you understand those patterns, change becomes possible.
During our sessions you will learn practical communication tools that you can start using immediately.
Communication is a skill
One of the biggest myths about relationships is that love should make communication easy.
It doesn’t.
Communication is a skill.
Like driving a car or learning a language, it can be practised.
Many couples tell me after only a few sessions:
“We finally understand what has been happening between us.”
International couples
Because I work with couples counselling in English as well asin Danish, I regularly help international couples living in Denmark.
Sometimes both partners are foreigners.
Sometimes one partner is Danish.
Sometimes cultural differences play a major role.
Often they don’t.
Most relationship problems are surprisingly universal.
Online counselling
If you live outside Copenhagen—or outside Denmark—we can also meet online.
Many couples find online sessions just as effective as meeting in person.
Who I work with
I work with couples experiencing:
- recurring conflicts

- jealousy

- stress
- trauma affecting the relationship
About me
I have spent many years helping couples understand not only what they argue about, but why the same conflicts keep repeating.
My goal is not to decide who is right.
My goal is to help both partners understand each other more deeply and create lasting change.
